Kirk Hendry, ospite speciale di questa decima edizione e Presidente di Giuria per il Premio Qualità Friuladria, è
un pluripremiato regista che lavora sia in animazione che in
live-action. Ha diretto svariate pubblicità (tra le tante
quella per il World Wildlife Fund, Ardbeg Whisky e il quotidiano The
Guardian) per studio di produzione Th1ng di
Londra. I suoi lavori artistici più recenti, Junk
e Round,
due cortometraggi in animazione, hanno vinto numerosi premi e sono
stati proiettati in oltre 150 festival cinematografici. Kirk ha anche
diretto numerosi video musicali ottenendo nomination sia per l'MTV
Music Video of the Year che
per il Next Great Filmmaker award
al
BIFF.
Attualmente
sta sviluppando un lungometraggio tratto dal bestseller di Michael
Morpurgo Il regno di Kensuke, il
famoso romanzo
per ragazzi edito in Italia da Salani. Fanno parte del team di
lavorazione del film il veterano dell'animazione Neil Boyle, lo
sceneggiatore Frank Cottrell Boyce e Sarah Radclyff alla produzione. Kirk è nato a Dunedin, in Nuova Zelanda, e vive a Londra,
Inghilterra.
Kirk Hendry, special guest of this tenth edition and President of the Jury for the Friuladria Quality Award, is an award-winning director who works both in animation and in live-action. He has directed several advertising (for World Wildlife Fund, Ardbeg Whisky and The Guardian newspaper, among many) for Th1ng production studio in London. His most recent animated videos, Junk and Round, won several awards and have been screened in over 150 film festivals. Kirk has also directed several music videos nominated for MTV Music Video of the Year and the Next Great Filmmaker Award at BIFF.
He is currently developing a feature-length film of Michael Morpurgo's bestseller, Kensuke's Kingdom, the famous children's novel published in Italy by Salani. In the team the animation veteran Neil Boyle, screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce and producer Sarah Radclyff.
